Most people quit running because they don’t know how to run.
They think buying a pair of Nike trainers and a Lululemon outfit is enough to make them a runner.
But you can’t go from couch potato to Instagram selfie runner in one day.
If you follow the Walk 2 Run program you won’t go for one run and think “Oh I’m so tired, I’m so unfit, I can’t do this” and then never run again. The beauty of it is that it’s a gradual thing.
I know, it sounds ridiculous to have a program to teach someone how to run, but the number one reason people say they want to run is to get fit, but because the first time is so hard, they never do it again.
The benefits that come from running (getting fit, increasing your cardiovascular health, releasing endorphins) only come from running again and again and again.
With the Walk 2 Run program, I’m going to show you how to run the right way - so that you keep running! And in 12 weeks time, you’ll be running rings around your former self.

This workout program is a comprehensive 12-week plan designed to help beginners gradually build their running endurance and strength, to get their first 5km run!
By incorporating a mixture of strength training, running days, rest days, light cross-training, stretching and mobility, we will be reducing the risk of injury and improving your overall fitness.
You'll be learning how to incorporate running, by gradually adding longer distances, and incorporating intervals to improve your running technique and endurance.
Strength training sessions are included twice a week, to complement your running and improve overall fitness.
Core exercises are also included to enhance core strength, stability, and posture for better running performance. Stretching and cool-down exercises are part of each week to aid in recovery and flexibility.
This program provides a structured and progressive approach for beginners.

The Program
Begin your 12-week adventure where you’ll transform from a beginner into a confident, continuous 5km runner. It's time to lace up your shoes and embark on your journey to a healthier, fitter you!

The focus is on building a solid foundation of cardiovascular fitness through brisk walking. The duration and intensity gradually increase to prepare your body for running. Your weight training program will consist of 2 weight sessions per week, with a big focus on strengthening your legs, upper body and core.

Learning how to progress to continuous running up to 2-3km. Your weights program will focus on building up your explosive power and stamina to get you ready for your continuous running.

You will learn how to progress your running up to 4-5km. Your weights program will focus on building up your core strength and leg and upper body strength to get ready for your final 5km.
